We went down to the Brisbane River to see the annual Riverfire fireworks tonight. Traditionally the riverbanks get crowded at key viewing spots. Since we didn’t want to camp for several hours at these areas to secure a good spot, we had to make do with whatever spots were left on the overcrowded river banks of New Farm.
I thought I had scored a useful spot (for a latecomer). In the dark I hardly notice the branches of the tree and they did not distract from the amazing spectacle that unfolded.
But the camera did notice them!
Old and New
Sunflowers always remind me of Europe, ever since I watched the Tour de France peloton on TV race through a sea of yellow, and even more since we drove our Campervan through thick yellow sunflower fields near Carcassonne last year. Sometime, for special occasions, I buy a bunch of sunflowers for the apartment.
My assignment was to take a sharp photo of the sunflowers. Easy, right?! I could not believe how many photos I took, uploaded and deleted over the past six days, and I’m still not really happy with the sharpness of the image.
We found this tranquil spot on our recent travels to Tasmania.
Hello Brisbane, you look very pretty from here. Putting quite a show on, aren’t you? With your laser beams shooting into the sky!
